Brick mortar work is done to create wall partisan between rooms, bathroom & other required .brick are joined on one another with cement & sand mortar. while creating partisan one must observe the thickness of partisan . generally if brick wall need to bear some load on top then we recommend 9inch thick brick wall or 4inch thickness is enough .

a)before starting brick wall we must ensure level are as required so the brick wall should be in proper line & label .

b)brick should be saturated in water so it fully soak with water. this process is done so brick should not soak excess water from mortar .if brick soak water from mortar due to heat of hydrant radiant suddenly & create crack.

  1. c) sand should be of river & washed to remove salt & other deformities .

  2. d) sand & cement mortar should in ratio from4:1 to 6:1 .

  3. e) after brick work it should be cured at least for 3-7 days .

Plaster is a layer of cement & sand mortar to cover the masonry brick surface or RCC surface . it’s been done in 2 coats where 1st coat is around 12-14mm & second coat is around 8-10mm.

material:- sand should be of river & water washed to remove all acid & salt deformities.

Ratio :– Ratio of mortar should be 1:3 to 1:4 of cement & sand .

  1. a) cover the surrounding flooring area with plastic sheet .

  2. b) wet the surface to be plaster.

  3. c) make mortar of cement & sand with specified ratio & mixed approved Admixture, admixture are added to reduce cement water ratio .we should use even water proofing compound in plaster .

d)Apply 1st coat of plaster in 12-14mm manually or with mechanism. cured it for 3-7 days .1st coat should be wired finish to receive second coat.

  1. e) Apply second coat of plaster of 8-10mm.cured it for 3-7 days to have proper strength.

Stone & Tile fixing is very important task in home . before the selection of tile/stone we must plan the following:-

  1. a) Material selection:- we must select material as per our requirement .

1) kitchen top :- kitchen top should have more water resistance & smooth so its impervious to water absorption & easy to clean .

2) for bath room floor it should be less water absorption & anti slip ( should not be too smooth)

3) rooms area can fitted with any type of stone/tiles.

4)window skirting to be done with marble/granite .

5) we should use tile /stone fixer to fix stone /tile for better adhesion.

Process :-

  1. a) take the level of surface with laser or tube level system.

b)fill the bidding material ( mortar of sand & cement ) to required level .for better performance we should fill till required level with cement sand screed. when we fix tiles/ stone on screed the chances of sink are reduced .

  1. c) fix tiles/stones are fixed with cement or tile/stone fixer material.

  2. d) fill the grout with white cement or tile grout material.

  3. e) skirting to be done on walls & windows as per direction.

  1. a) there are different type of tile/stone fixer as per there bonding strength & requirement ,for wall we need more bonding compare to floor.

  2. b) for stone /tile its better to use protective coats at base to the water or moisture does not climb up to surface due to capillary action.

  3. c) after application of stone it’s better to protect it from in grease of water/oil etc by application of silane/siloxine coatings.
